Begins in two weeks, that is.

So this is what I was thinking. My first series (God help me) was going to be five books long, with five different characters narrating, one for each book. I wrote most of the first book, but never actually finished it. Mainly because I think it's crap.

Other people have this problem with their own work. If they ever let another living soul read it, and said soul declares it good, they say, "Aw, shucks. You're just being nice." And they put it away and never speak of it again, choosing instead to toil on in obscurity, unless they learn better.

I'm trying to learn better. That's not what this is about.

This is about the fact that I can make one longer book out of the premise of five smaller ones, tighten it up, make it more literary (maybe), and do it all in the PoV of one character.

The character is an old man, who may or may not be senile. Therefore, the story may or may not be true. You can't imagine how much easier that makes it, or maybe you can.

On a more personal note: Never eat New Zealand Greenshell mussels that are covered in mayonnaise and seem to be of dubious origin. They are wonderful, but there is no better metaphor for Russian Roulette.

Also, because I'm unfashionably late to the party: http://dearauthor.com/wordpress/2007/10/11/top-10-tips-for-plagairists/

This is the journal where I post about writing, which is my great love, which would probably bore other people to death. Code of the Cog is the name of my series of books, or will be, if I ever manage to write them.

And that's it, really.
